In this unjustly patriarchal society, may the Daughter of today, find the strength to fight for what She wants to do in her life.
Whether She wants to have children, but doesn't want to be a wife.
Whether She wants to fall in love and marry, or if decides its a burden to carry.
Whether She wants to love a her, or a him, or if she decides both is a win,
Clearly, She is not concerned if you label any of her decisions as a sin.
Whether She wants to fly high, or be on ground in charge of the vehicle in the sky.
Whether She wants to fill her shelf with accolades,
Or be a homemaker deciding on her curtain shades,
Whatever you label her, She doesn’t care - it fades.
Whether She wants to wear that red lipstick,
Or those glamorous stilettos that click,
Whether her ‘bright-as-her-future’ strap is visible,
Your unsolicited opinions don’t matter, so don’t raise your decibel.
Whether She is saving up to own a house,
Or to buy a car to gift her mother, not her spouse.
Whether She prefers OJ or KF Light,
It's her life,
HER LIFE,
Over which, you have no right.
So keep your opinions to yourself,
Pack away your gossips in your shelf.
Realize that your words and unwarranted stares don't matter,
Otherwise She wouldn't be out there, in her quest to conquer.
Why is it that, we tend to take our life, self, mind & body for granted?
00A series of fortunate events that made me, and will continue to shape me...
