My mom. She's not always at home. She has a world of her own.
After a very devastating family problem, it turned out that the only decision is separation. After mom and dad separated, I stop calling our house a home. Although Mom did her best by visiting us during weekends, but she never set her foot on our house anymore. She fetches my eight-year-old brother after school. Sometimes I always think that she did that on purpose so my brother won't feel any emotional feelings in his very young age.
It was raining in the month of June. I found Mom standing near a small canteen. It's the only place where she could wait for the rain to stop. I gripped my umbrella and started walking towards her.
"Mom!" I called.
She turned. "Hey." she said feeling embarrassed that she forgot to bring her umbrella again. "Your brother is home now. Unfortunately, the rain started to pour. You know the weather these days. It's unpredictable."
I nodded. "Here." I gave her my umbrella.
She hesitated. "No. I'll wait here until the rain stops. You go ahead and head home now before the rain gets any stronger."
"I still have one in my bag." I lied.
"Why do you have two umbrellas with you?"
"I found this one on my way home. Take it."
She didn't decline. "Thanks!"
"Good-bye, Mom." I said and kissed her cheeks.
"Take care of your brother. Don't let him out. It's a very dreadful day. He might catch a cold."
I nodded to her last note.
When she started to walk away, I looked up the sky and waited for the rain to stop.
He left you without saying anything? What a stupid human being he is!
