Info

This is the real life story of a young guy who lost his legs at the age of 19. It happened when he tried jumping into a pool from a great height without knowing it is not that deep enough. What he lost in it, was not only his legs and the strength of his right hand, but all hopes, dream and joy of life.

Can you imagine how will it be when one fine day you realize that you can't even walk by yourself when you have years and years to pass in front of you. Though it is not the right thing to say, I somehow feel that it would have been better to be born handicapped than losing all that you had at the age of 19. The memories of the childhood and college days which were once sweet and lovely was then hurting him even deeper than the physical stress which he was undergoing

The moments of fun he had playing with his friends, running and catching them, the days of pride, when he won matches and matches with his strong football kicks, the moments of pleasure he had while his legs made strokes against the waves to swim were all flashing one by one before him making his wound at heart deeper and wider.

He felt completely shattered realising the fact that neither god nor any doctor could save his life from this situation. He felt death would have been better than leading such a hard miserable life.

Only one thing in this world can heal any wound deep or mild. Drug can do an effect only if man has "A hope to live" or "A dream to survive" and this hope or dream come only from the feeling of "being loved".

When all the doors which could possibly show a light were shut right before him, the immense love of his family and friends started giving him a positive energy and spirit and gave a ray of hope to his life. His thoughts started drifting away from the state of hopelessness to a new direction and with course of time what he developed was an extraordinary mental strength to fight against all the hurdles with a smile on his face. He proved with his life that no hard storm can sink him down and that he will still sail like a mighty ship serving others onboard.

The lady who came into his life as a nurse to take care of him admired his positive thoughts. She expressed her purest love to serve him throughout his life and later became his life partner. It is said that behind success of every man there is a woman and she was the angel of love behind his success.

You would be wondering how I knew these two beautiful souls. Well as a child, I spent most of my weekends for learning music out there, in the institution they started together for bringing up children's cultural and extracurricular skills. He has done wonderful things for his fellow beings and children in the society from his age of 20 till the age of 75, driven by the strong power of his mind and the help of his wheelchair.

He always loved kids that could be the reason why whatever initiatives he took was connected in one way or the other to children. There was a statue of Chacha ji (Nehru) in front of the nursery he started. The institute was called "Swaraj" which clearly shows his patriotism. He gave kids awareness of freedom fighters. He also held a children's association and conducted several competitions to encourage and help them recognize their skills.

Though they never had their own kids they have brought up hundreds of kids as good individuals and what he got in return was the love of all of them. He is now no more but I am sure that he lives in the hearts of many.

My father was his family doctor. I hear from my father that he often get bed sores on his body since all his life was in wheel chair or bed. Even on dressing a wide wound filled with pus he never failed to carry his smile on face. I also remember the way he write with less strength of his right hand. He held pen in his weak right hand and pushed it to scribble by his left hand by keeping a cardboard over his lap.

I do believe the saying that God or the supreme power gives hard puzzles for the people whom he loves the most because he has faith and trust in them. He feels they will figure out their own ways of solving it and will shine brighter like a wonderful star.

Life sometimes gives us a very hard punch that is strong enough to push us down, but the success of a man lies in his ability to come out of the darkness with much more positivity.
